Job description, responsibilities and duties

Based in Prague, Czech Republic, the role of the Procurement Category Analyst is to be the contract negotiator for clients sourcing their power and natural gas supplies from the deregulated energy markets in North-West Europe with a strong focus on Belgium and the Netherlands. The position requires the Analyst to forge strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as with all relevant suppliers in the region.
As a prerequisite for providing a best-in-class strategic sourcing service, the Analyst utilizes a sound understanding of the NWE energy markets and is able to meet and exceed the procurement objectives of our clients consistently. Close tracking of ongoing and (possible) future developments in the European and local energy markets from a regulatory and legislative point of view are critical to ensuring that all stakeholders are fully aware of the market environment in which they make purchasing decisions and how this environment may change over time. It is expected that the Analyst is always seeking to proactively shape and improve how Accenture sources its clients’ energy supplies. This encompasses procurement systems as well as the underlying processes.


Main responsibilities:

• Participate in new business development, especially due diligence and solution design
• Demonstrates mastery in designated (sub)-categories
• Work with Client Delivery team to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with contractual or service level obligations
• Ensure that services are provided within assigned budgets and timelines; take action necessary to address any issues
• Provide input to Accenture best practices
• Present pricing recommendations confidently to internal and external stakeholders
• Facilitate the contracting process including confirming contract executions with suppliers
• Ensure all contracted opportunities are properly recorded in internal systems.
• Demonstrate industry expertise in strategies and processes for purchasing power and gas.
• Effectively communicate complex market and regulatory developments to internal & external stakeholders.

Personality requirements and skills

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
 • Dutch or Flemish language skills (minimum C1)
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in the areas of procurement, energy markets, utilities, finance, risk management, and/or quantitative analysis
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 • Masters or other advanced degree, preferably in Economics or Engineering
• Ability to interface with customers and suppliers via strong written and verbal communications skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
