Job description, responsibilities and duties

GE is looking for a General accounting team leader to be a part of our Global Ops Finance Belfort Team.

This team is a component of the Global Ops Finance Europe organization, and you will be in charge of providing services to the legal entities operated by GE affiliates across a growing number of countries in Europe in contact with the local/regional business controllership teams. On top of this, you will manage teams, take control of a wide range of finance operational activities in a designated country, region or sub-process, and act as the liaison to the other GE businesses to help deliver strong services, and ensure compliance across all operations.

In summary, your main responsibilities will be:

• Contributing to development and execution of the operational plan in line with our global and European strategies.
• Leading, coaching, coordinating and motivating the local shared service team in order to fully engage the team by promoting and developing talent, and promoting reward and recognition
• Operating constructively within a matrix organisation, ultimately driving aligned and clear expectations for the organization.
• Becoming the liaison and business partner of GE Businesses operating in the country or region in order to be able to execute on shared service requirements
• Proactively addressing gaps in process standards, training and documentation, and identifying and recommending improvement ideas for productivity and simplification of integrations processes.
• Developing a change and efficiency mindset for the team in order to promote and obtain efficient processes that deliver productivity and savings to the operation
• Ensuring Controllership and Compliance practices across operations in order to fully meet all applicable practices, politics and regulations

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

- You are an experienced accounting manager with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in accounting or finance with experience in a similar role.
- A high school diploma with experience in an accounting role will also be accepted.
- You have very strong English skills (written and verbal fluency) and a strong knowledge of SAP.
- You are also familiar with management through KPIs oriented, seeking efficiency and have a demonstrated leadership experience.
- Finally, you are able to plan and prioritise multiple tasks and resources, and have a process-oriented mindset.
- A US GAAP/multi-GAAP accounting experience would be beneficial as would fluency or basic competencies in an additional European language (other than English).
