Chief Accountant

eporting to the Finance Manager of the entire CEE Region, based in Poland, and responsible for the department of Finance & Accounting locally in Czech Republic.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- To manage all relevant accounting processes, ensures high quality of reporting baseline, and achieves Tax Compliance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· drive and encourage daily control and monitoring within all accounting-relevant processes
· ensure General Ledger (G/L) reconciliations are implemented and executed and policies are strictly followed
· maintain General Ledger
· ensure that Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions are effectively managed
· support and consult with operational functions across the organization within a framework of improving
· provide correct, complete and timely financial information for reporting, forecasting and controlling purposes (high quality baseline for financial information)
· guarantee tax compliance
· secure timely and correct Cash-Management (processing of all cash-related transactions)
· provide correct, complete and timely statutory accounts
· support Finance & Accounting department within its reporting functions (internal and external), comment on key variances for internal and external reporting
· assist with special projects as required
· constantly drive efficiency improvement for all accounting-related processes
· develop and review control framework within accounting-relevant processes ensuring an effective control monitoring process is delivered
· manage performance of Accountants in the department to ensure their business and development needs are delivered
· be a professional business partner for (internal and external) auditors and external consultants (e.g.tax consultants)
· support business functions in delivering accounting and financial advice as needed

840 000 CZK per annum

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
· Qualified Accountant with Tax certificate
· Technical High School; University diploma is typically not required
· Minimum of 5 years in accounting (leasing accounting a big plus)
· Experience in Tax compliance from Czech’s market

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
· Knowledge of Czech accounting and tax law and standards
· Be proactive, methodical and assertive
· Proven ability to challenge current practice, analyze and draw conclusions on findings
· Experience in delivering effective controls through IT systems (PC skills, Excel & Word)
· Advanced level in English and Czech or Slovak (spoken & written)
