Job description, responsibilities and duties

- Our client aims to strengthen its market position in Czech Republic and Slovakia.
- As Managing Director - generální ředitel - you will be responsible for all business activities (esp. sales development, customer service to existing customers, new customer acquisition and market development) in this region, with strong emphasis on sales and services.
- Establishment and development of good personal contacts (sales) with business partners and customers (incl. customer acquisition).
- Conducting market analysis and intensifying of all activities in the market according to the mid- and long-term strategic objectives.
- Further development of the product-, customer- and market-portfolio, based on the growth of the company.
- Implementation of a growth strategy under anticipation of trends and future market needs.
- Development and optimization of the business and processes in a rapidly changing and growing environment.
- Leading of all business activities (with a strong focus on sales with respect to all commercial and financial aspects).
- Perform a structured and clear reporting system (esp. finance & market reporting).
- Monitoring the sales performance.
- Continuous development and leadership of a professional sales & service organization.
- Leadership, coaching, and development of the direct reports.
- Realization of the corporate culture.
- Promotion of cooperation within the organization
- Exchange of information between the target markets and the headquarters.
- Development of regionally specific sales concepts and strategies.
- Participation in fairs and exhibitions.
- You use your technical competence and business skills to provide the customers with individual solutions, actively conveying the benefits of “your” products.

Our client is an internationally operating company from a German speaking country, which belongs to world leaders in development, manufacturing and sales of machinery and equipment for the metal working industry. The company has a long tradition and operates several production sites and numerous branches and sales offices worldwide. The company aims to expand its market position in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia. There is currently a vacancy for a position as Managing Director to fill.

Personality requirements and skills

- In addition to a very good knowledge of Czech language (native speaker level), you have good command of English, both oral and written.
- Several years of successful sales and executive experience in a similar position, preferably within an international company, with experience in the machine-building industry.
- University degree (or similar qualification or technician; also economist with good technical knowledge in the machine-building industry).
- Commercial skills.
- Preferably Good market and/or industry knowledge.
- Personnel experience and excellent leadership skills as well as ability to motivate a team.
- You have excellent leadership qualities and sales skills; you are convincing and know how to assert yourself in dealing with both customers and staff.
- You are competent, proactive and focused in your actions and approach, your conduct is confident and friendly.
- Hands-on-mentality with a strong focus on sales.
- You are team-minded and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High Willingness to travel
