Job description, responsibilities and duties
This is a vacancy for Prague-based Summit software engineer.Summit is the target trading system for front-to-back office, from trade capture through to settlement of all products other than equity derivatives and Flow FX – therefore covering interest rate, credit, fx and derivatives products around these.
The successful applicant will form part of a development team in Prague and will be assigned several key areas of system development, which will also include assisting with migration project work, e.g. from Summit Classic to FT, interfaces like Markitwire, ICE Link and other FO and BO systems related projects.Alongside all of this there is a BAU responsibility – contributing to maintenance and enhancements on the live Summit instance and the necessity to liaise from time-to-time with a diverse range of users including traders, sales, risk managers, etc.

The successful applicant should be a strong C++ developer, used to working in a Solaris / UNIX environment, have a good working knowledge of Java/C# and also have solid experience of the Sybase ASE database platform.

- >3 years years’ IT experience as Summit developer
- Experience as a Developer in summit projects of different architectures including host connection
Essential:
- Strong C++/STL skills
- Experience with CORBA and an implementation, e.g. OmniORB or Orbix
- C# development skills (J2SE) including OO design
- Knowledge and experience in multi-threaded environments
- Skilful developing and scripting in a UNIX environment, i.e. ksh/Perl scripting and solid UNIX command line
- Summit knowledge- FT and Classic (>4 years years of experience) and knowledge of its API
- Good experience with version control, build management and packaging/releasing to production
- Extensive experience with Sybase ASE and SQL queries (to the point of basic performance tuning expertise)
- Interest rate and credit business knowledge
- Knowledge of risk methodologies (var, etc)
- UC4 or equivalent (e.g. AutoSys) job scheduling knowledge
- Knowledge of web servers e.g. JBoss/Tomcat
- Contemporary Sybase ASE knowledge (to v15, or a min of v12.5), additionally OpenClient
- Knowledge the .NET Framework 1.1 (used in some Misys products)
