Data/ Network Operations Engineer is responsible for maintaining the global company network and networks of dedicated clients on operational level to ensure timely resolution of incidents to meet SLAs. Further responsible for implementing requests for configuration changes on the devices under support and working with external service providers on issues impacting data circuits. This does include dealing with incident coordinators and also with higher escalation levels and vendors based on the defined operations processes.
 
 
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
 
 
 
 
• Troubleshooting data/voice issues reported either by the monitoring system or directly by the affected clients and escalating production problems per operations processes. This activity includes hardware, software and configuration issues together with issues on data/voice circuits provided by external vendors
• Escalating major production issues to higher technical levels or engaging external vendors if their analysis, suggestions or HW replacement is needed
• Implementing requests for configuration changes on network devices including routers, switches, VPN boxes, packet shapers and WAN optimization devices
• Validating change requests that are planned on the devices under the support before the change is finally scheduled
• Monitoring and providing basic troubleshooting of issues on devices that are under shared support and advise further steps in resolution
• Implementing request for DNS/DHCP changes
• Administration of ACS and troubleshooting issues related to authentication
• Learning new products and services that come under the support
• Taking part in transition of new projects or technologies
• Taking resolution confirmation and resolving the Incident record
• Working in team on major issues that need parallel investigation on many devices at the same time

Work Experience:  
Minimum of one year of prior experience in networking

• Understanding of basic networking concepts (Routes, switches, VPN boxes, firewalls, routing protocols)

• Interest in wifi components: wireless controllers, access points
• Understanding of basic Network Monitoring tools concepts
• Interest in VoIP technology
• Interest in cloud computing
• Interest in MPLS, WAN optimization technology and packet shaping
• Ability to remain calm and courteous in periods of stress
• Ability to work on several problems simultaneously
• Ability to work with broad range of experience levels
