Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
The role of Commercial Finance Analyst is to support the marketing & sales team in providing adequate financial insights in regards to new product launches, product changes, promo’s, category & brand performance and this by providing the financials and ROI analyses. To ensure the Regional and CEEME Advertising and Promotion expenditure is controlled in an efficient and effective manner, whilst meeting all accounting and compliance requirements. To support the EME budgets and Le process by analyzing consolidated NVO and ANP position. Report and do budget and planning for the Internet customer Zooplus.
For EME Regional Advertising and Promotion (A&P) EXPENSES:
- Lead the budgeting and planning process
- Provide timely reporting against budgets and LEs
- Supervise the correct eBuy administration and ledger coding of expenses
- Execute monthly accruals, ensuring that these are aligned with external and internal accounting standards
- Own the year-end accounting procedures, providing leadership and direction to the commercial team to ensure timelines are delivered and accounting standards are met
- Action cross-charges as required
- Provide responses to audit queries as and when requested
For Country subsidiary Direct A&P:
- Own the process for creating the Divisional consolidation of Direct A&P expenses
- Liaise with Divisional Marketing to ensure that the consolidation delivers the required data and reporting
- Execute the consolidation for budgets and LEs and provide the reporting output for inclusion in management reviews
- Support the Country subsidiaries with questions and training on the process
For Marketing Agency expenses:
- Own the procedures and processes for controlling project: cost estimation and sign-off; purchase order raising and approval; cost revisions; and actuals reporting
- Ensure adherence to these procedures by both Hill’s and the Agency
- Receive quarterly reporting from the Agency and ensure it is within agreed parameters. Communicate outputs onto the broader Hill’s management team highlighting any red flags
- Support the budgeting process including determining timelines and inputs
- Build strong working relationships with Agency financial and non-financial employees
- Selectively audit the Agency financial arrangements in accordance with the global MSA
For business analyses
- Provide the marketing with adequate financial information to support and understand the impact on margin level of a new product launch, formulation &size changes by providing P&L’s (up to margin) on EME or Region, country level
- To help analyzing the expense and impact of promotional support for a product range and to provide the ROI supporting this analyses
- Provide P&L’s and other financial insights by brand category performance,…
- Maintain a standardized tool in excel that allows flawless execution of the above ROI and P&L’s on EME, region, country level.
- Analyze quarterly standards and provide insights on major changes in raw and pack by brand species on the EME, region, country level
- Maintain adequate reporting tools to track the quarterly standards
Education/ Experience Requirements
Basic qualifications include: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance related field, minimum 5 years’ experience in finance role.
Preferred qualifications include: Master’s Degree in Finance related field and/or formal Accounting qualification.
