Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

*Design, implement, develop and maintain a Configuration Management System (CMS).
*Configuration Management processes (including the items to be controlled and the information to be captured and recorded).
*Develop process standards, process plans and procedures.
*Ensure that the appropriate controls are in place to ensure accuracy and completeness of Configuration Items
*Ensure that the appropriate levels of security and availability are applied
*Will see to it that all CMS changes that match or exceed the Change Process are properly approved, communicated, and managed through the Change Management process.
*The Configuration Manager also oversees implementation of new Configuration
*Management processes, after proper planning and communication.
*Conducts regular reviews and assessments of current relevant processes.
*The manager also designs and implements improvements to current processes
*The manager will also oversee that staff are complying with the rules/standards established.
*Liaises with other process owners & functional areas (e.g. Change Management, Problem Management) to ensure consistency in the process management area.

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

*Bachelor’s degree in IT area, applied science, engineering or management field.
*Minimum of 5 years overall IT experience in the appropriate area.
*Ideally from an IT process and/or service delivery background.
*Successfully implemented policies/processes in a previous role.
*Experience with IT Asset & Management.
*Experience with T-SQL – basic.
*Desire to own decisions and take responsibility for outcomes.
*Ability to influence staff outside of direct responsibility to follow process.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
*Strong analytical skills.
*Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel Advanced and Visio).
*Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally.
