Amazon is seeking a Financial Analyst II to join EMEA Finance Operations as a member of the Tax Operations Team. This role will manage execution of the tax identity collection, withholding, information reporting and other transactional tax procedures. This person will be expected to take ownership, identify process improvement opportunities for existing processes and controls and drive positive change in the organization. This role will also support external and internal partners on special projects to operationalize new tax legislation and to launch new businesses in the EMEA region.
The key responsibilities include:

- Implement and execute business requirements and tax processes needed to support EMEA withholding and information reporting requirements including collection and validation of identify information, issuance of tax information reports to recipients and creation and filing of operational tax returns and supporting documentation
- Communicate with internal and external customers regarding tax identity collection policies, forms, and related issues
- Manage implementation of and ensure the roll out of supporting financial and reporting systems/ platforms are compliant and efficient from a withholding and information reporting perspective, including training employees as required
- Maintain ‘Bill To’ address information
- Reconcile prior tax remittances with tax agencies and work to perform proper allocation and to issue refunds
- Support Corporate Tax in creation of VAT returns
- Ensure compliance to invoice requirements
- Ensure proper reporting of M&A post acquisition payments
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers around tax identity, withholding and invoices, payments, refunds, etc
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation for existing processes and controls
- Support audits and information requests from internal and external partners

Personality requirements and skills

- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or Tax Law
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting/finance/tax experience
- Experience in VAT, withholding and information reporting compliance, preferably for a multinational organization
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Proficiency with Excel/Oracle/Hyperion Essbase/Cognos
- Strong accounting, analytical, and tax research skills
- Strong project management and organization skills
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
