Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

• Application design: Works primarily with the non-IT customers of the International HR team (who is supporting 55 countries with AT&T presence outside of the US) to transform their business need to automate processes into smart technical solutions, which entails a large variance of smart small-scale IT-solutions.
• Application consultant: Meets clients to collect business requirements, ensures right level of detail, challenges and refines client requirements to find a simple technical solution for the problem, presents a variety of solutions with advantages and disadvantages and recommends preferred technology (web-based interface, data base application, or MS Office products)
• Application developer: Programs technical small sized applications self-sufficiently (clients mostly work with MS Office). The new applications will interface to in-house systems or vendor applications such as Oracle/PeopleSoft. Examples: Combined reporting, automated email sending and web-based applications which simplify HR processes within a continuously changing environment
• Self-sufficient project lead: Owns the entire project live-cycle from end-to-end (define requirements, design solution, program and organize sufficient testing, launch and implementation maintenance and create support documentation)
• Reports into International HR and is virtually managed
• Customer support: Supports and trains end users, resolves issues, documents and enhances solutions to meet future business requirements.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

1. Advanced Excel-VBA skills and excellent knowledge of MS-Office products
2. Programming knowledge: Sufficient to program small applications as a stand-alone IT expert, thus requiring a minimum of being an expert in PHP. and/or ASP.net, Data base SQL server and/or Oracle)
3. Very good knowledge of a non IT business environment (ideally HR) – minimum 4 years’ experience with collection of requirements (transforming client needs into IT requirements, data management, process design, and simplification)
4. Excellent project management skills and communication skills to gather challenge and refine HR business needs.
5. Logic reasoning, excellent learning skills: Ready to learn a new programming language self-sufficiently and utilize it Minimum 1 year experience with reporting
6. Minimum: 2 years’ experience with full live-cycle of projects – requirements gathering, testing, implementation
7. Desired: Experience with the integration of applications into a complex IT structure of a larger company including the required security set-ups for Sensitive Personal Information.
8. Ideal: Experience with Open source software such as LifeRay
9. Minimum work experience required: 8+ years
10. University degree either in Business Management field with profound IT/programming skills as addition or IT degree with profound business management addition
