Functions

you will:




Design, develop,commission and maintain analogue and digital electronic modules and control systems used for operational beam transfer equipment across the whole CERN accelerator complex; proposing improvements and upgrades as required.


Study, develop and commission diverse types of power electronic modules for triggering of high-voltage switches.


Take responsibility for the specification, procurement and maintenance of all commercial and in-house HV D.C. power supplies used by the section.


Take on supervisory responsibilities as required (technical students and contractors).


Document and present your work as appropriate.

Bachelor in the field of electronics engineering, technical engineering, or equivalent. *

Experience and competencies

The experience required for this post is:


A first relevant experience in electronics design and development, both digital and analogue: good theoretical knowledge and practical experience in analogue circuit design, modelling and simulation.




The technical competencies required for this post are:


Design of pulsed power systems.

Analogue circuit design, modelling and simulation.

Design of electronics for low power high voltage circuits.

Design of electronics based on field programmable logic-based devices (FPGA).

Commissioning, operation & maintenance of electronic systems.



The language competencies required are:


Spoken and written English or French: ability to understand and speak the other language in professional contexts. Ability to draw up technical specifications and/or scientific reports and to make oral presentations in at least one of the two languages.
