Description

Functions

Within the Organization, Scheduling & Safety Section you are responsible for planning and coordination of installation, maintenance shutdown and repair activities for the different accelerators' long shutdowns and technical stops, as well as for providing planning support for different CERN projects such as CLIC, LINAC4, AWAKE, HL-LHC, HIE-ISOLDE and LIU.

Stakeholders of the section are the Beams, Physics, General Services and Technology departments, as well as the other groups within the Engineering department itself.

In collaboration with the different stakeholders, you will:



Plan and coordinate all installation and maintenance activities for the different accelerators,ensuring all activities are carried out within agreed overall schedule.

Prepare all supporting documentation and liaise between the stakeholders.

Manage the impact of operational problems affecting the installation and maintenance work on the schedule, in order to minimize any delays.

Identify and resolve conflicting co-activity issues with the stakeholders concerned and the Project Leaders.

In collaboration with the relevant Safety Coordinator, ensure that all safety concerns related to the installation work are identified and that the relevant safety rules/procedures are applied.

Note on Employment Conditions

We offer a limited-duration contract for a period of 5 years. Limited-duration contracts shall terminate by default on their date of expiry.
Subject to certain conditions, holders of limited-duration contracts may apply for an indefinite position.

These functions require:


Work during nights, Sundays and public holidays.

Work in Radiation Areas.

Interventions in underground installations.

A valid driving licence.

Shift work, when required by the needs of the Organization.

Stand-by duty, when required by the needs of the Organization.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Intermediate (B1)

Personality requirements and skills

Qualification required

Master's degree in the field of engineering (or equivalent).

Experience and competencies

The experience required for this post is:



Demonstrated experience in engaging stakeholders and obtaining consensus around commonly agreed objectives.

Demonstrated experience with project management and coordination.

Demonstrated experience of working with project planning tools.




The technical competencies required for this post are:



Project management.
