Cisco Systems R&D in Prague develops innovative products in the domain of Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) in order to fight against modern sophisticated attacks in today's cyberspace which include Advanced Persistent Threats (APT), exploit kits, zero-day attacks, molymorphic malware or trojans inside the client's network. Our products integrates Artificial Intelligence techniques (statistical analysis, autonomic/agent-based computing, ensamble classification, game-theoretic self-optimization) within the framework of distributed, intelligent, and forward-thinking security architecture. Our solutions are deployed as an appliance, with an optional embedded network probe, virtual appliance or an OEM software module for integration with third-party products. It relies only on NetFlow/IPFIX inputs, ensuring easy integration with any networks.
Role and Responsibilities
As a part of CISCO Security and Cloud Operations, we are building a Big Data Team in Prague. This team will be supporting Cognitive Thread Analytics technology suite developed in Prague R&D Center, leveraging a successful acquisition of Cognitive Securuty in 2013. The mission of the team is to be able to detect and analyze novel advanced mallware by building machine learning based big data analytics of the network data managed by CISCO. We are looking forward to motivated individual who would become a part of the newly built Big Data Team in Prague. Core responsibilities includes:
* Lead the cross functional engineering process to design and develop the next generation version Big Data platform
* Provide technological and architectural leadership, and implement, scale and evolve key components of the our platform
Research and experiment with emerging Big Data technologies/tools

* Master in Computer Science or related field
* Java is a must - JDK/JEE 7/8 - Annotations, Reflection and Java generics
* Demonstrated experience in software development with current hands-on experience in the subset of the following:
* Network Data Collection Technologies: Netflow v9, IPFIX, MPLS PE Router Info & Stats
* Cloud Data Collection Technologies: Cloud Provider APIs, Syslogs, sFlow, Monitoring Agents
* Cloud Technologies: Openstack, Azure, AWS, VmWare, etc.
* Analytics Architectures: MySQL, Hadoop, MapReduce, NoSQL, Cassandra, Tableau, etc.
* Experience with Algorithm Parallelization, Job Control , and Realtime Analytics Infrastructure would be an advantage
* Demonstrated experience in product leadership including people management, process and project management
* Motivated individual, excellent communicator and a strong team player
* Master in Computer Science or related field
