EASA is looking for a Certification Director (AD 14) (f/m)

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is the centrepiece of the European Union’s strategy for aviation safety. Based in Cologne, EASA’s vision is to see citizens benefit from the safest and most environment-friendly civil aviation system worldwide.

The Certification Director will be part of the senior management team, reporting directly to the Executive Director, and will be responsible for the following core key certification related activities carried out by around 250 staff : product airworthiness, continuing airworthiness oversight, environmental certification and designing organisation approval.

Your responsibilities:

  • Establishing, implementing, monitoring and updating operational processes in the areas mentioned above;
  • Overseeing the management, planning and implementation of the Directorate’s strategic goals, objectives and budget;
  • Liaising with the Agency’s partners and stakeholders;
  • Representing the Agency’s position in high-level aviation safety forums.

Your skills:

  • At least 15 years of professional experience with a minimum of 10 years in aviation product design, development or certification activities and 5 years of senior management experience;
  • Proven knowledge of the EU airworthiness certification system, including associated concept of organisation approvals;
  • Good knowledge of the international context of certification processes, demonstrated by examples of previous experience;
  • Proven experience of working relationships with National Aviation Authorities and industry stakeholders.
