Design & Development Engineer (Combustion Engine)

location: Prague-Roztoky, Czech Republic
Essential Functions:
  • Conceptualize and design state-of-the-art mechanical engineering designs and Powertrain concepts ·
  • Generate a variety of solution options and perform trade-off analyses using both analytical and experimental resources
  • Formulate a concept’s critical design features, perform risk assessment and execute the relevant tests to validate the design
  • Define, plan, and execute all aspects of sample/prototype control system development project including analysis, design, fabrication, assembly, and rig tests
  • Oversee the installation of prototype on the engine and connection with vehicle control systems
  • Interact with a variety of technical contributors including engineers, designers, and technicians to accomplish project objectives
  • Interact with Valve Train Product Engineering to accomplish project objectives
  • Clearly communicates project status to management both verbally and in writing
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Master (preferred) of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Two years of experience preferably within Internal Combustion engines design and development in industry
  • Ability to design and develop Valve Train and Variable Valve Train components and systems
  • Expert knowledge of analysis tools (FEM), mechanical tolerance stuck-up, manufacturing techniques
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent English
