Remote Software Engineer (KVM on Power)

Join the Virtualization team to guide the direction, design, and implementation of technologies for Kernel Virtual Machines! You’ll join a global team to work on a project that is at the center of our software development life cycle under a contract for the fixed term of three years.

TASKS:
• Optimize, debug, and tune KVM on Power
• Optimize and maintain KVM and QEMU code
• Communicate and coordinate dates, deliverables, feature requirements and roadmaps, etc.
• Design and develop new, complex virtualization features for KVM
• Maintain the RHEL virtualization stack in KVM

REQUIREMENTS:
• Proven C or Assembler programming expertise
• Familiarity with the Power architecture
• Experience working with kernel at the device drivers level
• Experience with the Linux user space and system development
• Ability to work without supervision
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with open source projects
• Background in Linux low-level networking
• Experience with virtualization, KVM, and QEMU
