The Hanseatische Personalkontor ( is a successful recruitment consultancy with 20 branches in Germany. We consult with companies across all industry sectors. With our expertise we support our clients in searching and selecting qualified staff, line managers and members for the executive board.

Our client is a successful partner for the global automotive industry. The company develops and manufactures automotive parts in six countries, including Germany, Poland and Czech Republic in Europe. With a good reputation on the market, they focus on innovative, customized solutions for the OEMs.

We support our client in searching a Senior Controller to direct the finance and control affairs of the operations in Europe. This newly created position will be a key position in the organization. You will report directly to the international headquarter. You are able to choose your location which can be either in the Hanover Region, Prudnik in Poland or Hranice in Czech Republic.

Your main tasks
- Manage, organize and control the financial activities of the European operations
- Provide support to management and staff at the European sites in ensuring that proper controls are in place and processes are consistently followed across the region
- Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide recommendations to regional and headquarter management for decision making purposes
- Development, analysis and interpretation of operational results in terms of profitability, performance against budget and forecasts
- Highlight trends and analyze causes of unexpected variances
- Ensures accuracy and timeliness of financial results and management reports, considering both local accounting rules and US GAAP requirements
- Support establishment of internal audit, ERP-System implementation and conversion from US GAAP to IFRS
- Oversee and manage the development of budgeting, financial forecasting, strategic plan and modeling tools
- Communicate to peers, subordinates and upper management often and proactively
- Maintain local banking, tax and auditor relationships

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1) and Czech - Intermediate (B1) and
German - Intermediate (B1)

Personality requirements and skills

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent; Accounting Certificate (CPA equivalent) or Master’s degree preferred
- Knowledge and skills typically acquired through five or more years of experience in various finance roles in a manufacturing organization, including several years in an international role
- Demonstrated proficiency in U.S. GAAP and IFRS; understanding of local statutory requirements is beneficial
- Strong analytical skills, ability to clearly link financial results with operational performance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear and concise manner
Independent work manner to lead initiatives to the completion of desired results
- Detailed oriented in line with the capability to see the big picture
- Hands on and team oriented
- Fluent in English and ideally working knowledge of German or Czech
- Ability to travel 20-30 % in Europe
