Overview
During the last few years, Applications Services Global Delivery (Apps GD) has positioned itself as one of the global players in the outsourcing market.
This dynamic and growing market still offers many challenging opportunities for motivated Engineers for the Bratislava Center. One of the essential success factors is the availability of excellent technical solutions and professional delivery of support and services.

Key responsibilities:
• Participates as a member of a Data Engineering Team supporting one or more application projects
• Works collaboratively with the Application and Infrastructure team, including architects, developers and testers, to ensure project success
• Ensures integration of deliverables with other project deliverables
• Participates in discussion with customers and peers to collect and analyze data requirements
• Contributes to the knowledge base
• Participates in at least one community, contributes to discussions, forums and knowledge base
• Provides input and advice to peers and other project team members in relation to data engineering principles, technologies, methods and best practices within areas of expertise
• Participates in database development and maintenance activities including development, modification, testing, release, deployment and maintenance of database objects
• Participates in work product reviews for both data and application artifacts
• Develops and maintains database support documentation
• Produces and maintains logical and physical data models for databases and projects
• Participates in formal Data Modelling Reviews
• Data management (collection, maintenance, upload)
• Assists business and technical personnel in data analysis activities including using SQL queries
• Responsibility for the timely and accurate creation and validation of data mining analysis and its interpretation
• Participates in Data Conversion (data mapping) to produce a data dictionary and data mapping matrix between the external software and the internal database for business function replacement
• Participates in data quality analysis / data profiling, to produce a data quality assessment (and baseline)
• Designs simple Data Transformation Strategies for Business Intelligence or Data Migration
• In this particular case experience with integration of various systems on data level is of an advantage
• Working with reports
• Controlling and monitoring relevant projects data

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Intermediate (B1)

Other knowledge

SQL - Advanced
Oracle Database - Advanced
Visual Basic - Advanced

Personality requirements and skills

Education and Experience Required:

• Typically a technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 6 years of related experience or a Master’s degree and up to 4 years of experience in IT (programming, database management)

Knowledge and Skills Required :

• Understanding of relational database management systems, such as SQL Server or Oracle, Preferred is the experience with Oracle products (Databases), Jboss and Talend data management
• Optional experience with software development
• Practical knowledge of PL/SQL
• Knowledge of VBA macros
• Excel knowledge (Visual Basic, Macros…)
• Basic database design and implementation skills
• Basic understanding of modern SCM (software configuration management)
• Basic understanding of database testing approaches and testing methodologies
• Experience using an integrated environment and tools for database modelling and database schema implementation
• Understanding of basic Database Administration
• Advantage in knowledge of regular expressions
• Basic java/C# programming language awareness is advantage as well
• Knowledge and experience using Electronic Data Interchange method/standard, including various transmission methods, some of the protocols, e.g. HTTP, POP3, IMAP, SOAP, XML or others
• Formal XML and XSLT notation and transformation knowledge is expected
• Understanding of basic quality and security standards
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• English language skills – at least Intermediate
