Embedded Developer - Wireless Expert

We are looking for an Engineer who is interested in working in embedded RTOS and Linux environments on high-end processors, and provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coordinate with project planning for the next generation of connected home and building automation products. In addition to working on complex software development projects or in software development in C and C++, the Wireless Protocol Engineer will design and/or review architecture modules and software systems supporting new technology or improving capability/performance of existing functionality.
Main Responsibilities:
*Integration of 3rd party Wi-Fi stack and middleware
*Developing and supporting software for testing commercial Wi-Fi chipsets
*Development and ownership of Wireless stack profile configurations
*Management of 3rd party technical (hardware and software) relationships including integration of externally developed deliverables into projects
*Assisting in coordination of Interoperability Testing
*Mentoring of other software engineers in Wi-Fi technologies
*Decompose functional requirements into well defined tasks
*Research fundamental problems and implements algorithm solutions that are appropriate
*Offer peer technical assessments in areas of expertise, new technologies and software designs and assist design engineering as needed with component datasheet review and schematic design review
*Evaluate new technologies as they apply to existing functions
*Contribute to advanced technical research on new technologies
*Apply knowledge of production and operations issues as they relate to engineering

Qualifications:
*Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or another relevant engineering/technical field
*Writing and supporting software in C and C++ (Min. 5 years of experience)
*Minimum of 5 years of experience WiFi security and connection procedures
*Minimum of 5 years of experience in data structures and/or object oriented design methodology
*Demonstrate proficiency with designing well-architected software systems and modules that support new technology or improve capability/performance of existing functionality
*Demonstrated competence with researching fundamental problems and implementing appropriate algorithmic solutions
*Demonstrated ability to serve as a lead software engineer for a complex software project and the ability to decompose functional requirements into well defined tasks while balancing quality, quantity and complexity in work output are also required
*Demonstrated capability to offer peer technical assessments in areas of expertise, new technologies and software designs
*Candidates with experience in RTOS, Linux, Data Connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, Zigbee, Z-Wave, EnOcean, and Multimedia working in a team environment are preferred!
