Job description, responsibilities and duties

Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support for production of aerospace mechanical components manufactured at various sites including Phoenix, HCMO and Honeywell Aerospace Olomouc (HAO) to ensure that all components meet design intent for form, fit, and function. Primary responsibilities are to answer questions regarding drawing and engineering requirement interpretation, process drawing changes, and create/revise/validate 3D models as necessary. He/she will be expected to mediate and resolve conflicts between engineering requirements and manufacturing process practices or capability. Additional responsibilities may include supporting new product development activities.

Work content:
*Provide drawing interpretation and design support to the manufacturing site
*Propose/Create/Review/Approve drawing changes
*Work with engineering and quality engineering to perform root cause corrective action (RCCA) on discrepant hardware
*Incorporate design for manufacturing (DFM) information to new designs
*Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements; participate in site cost reduction teams

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

*Minimum bachelor degree or equivalent in Mechanical engineering or general engineering degree
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
*Manufacturing knowledge is advantage
*Knowledge of CAD tools (NX preferred)
*Ability to speak and write in Czech and English
*Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills
*Schedule management skills – sense of urgency and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
*Comfortable working in a production environment and interacting with manufacturing employees
