Job description, responsibilities and duties

Supplier Quality Engineering is responsible for coordinating suppliers and verifying quality standards in accordance with the requirements of Honeywell – Safety and Productivity Solutions.

Responsibilities:
Leads the issue resolution and root-cause analysis processes associated with supplier quality issues.
Leads activities within the commodity management team to improve supplier quality, delivery, and performance for direct material suppliers (Including electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical components, raw materials and finished goods).
Supports Sourcing Supplier Development Engineering in the selection, qualification, and development of suppliers.
Directs PPAP (production part approval process) qualification activities associated with new parts as part of new product development projects, and re-qualifying parts as part of supplier transition projects.
Directs Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) requirements and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) requirements of project-specific components and products.
Utilizes standard Honeywell processes to support the audit and approval of new suppliers.
Assists with roll out, training and implementation of supplier quality tools for suppliers.
Assists manufacturing in development, implementation and execution of sampling and inspection programs for purchased parts and products as needed
Supports efforts to fully realize cost savings opportunities
Liaises effectively with commodity teams, program managers, operations and engineering leadership, to identify and fully satisfy requirements for Supplier Quality Engineering activities at regional factories

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in business administration, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain management
Minimum of 5 years of integrated supply chain or engineering experience
3 years of experience in project engineering, manufacturing engineering and/or quality and/or operations
Experience with direct / indirect reports in multiple sites
Experience with ISO standards and supplier quality auditing
Strong background in lean six sigma and statistical process control, capability analysis (Cp, Cpk)
Must have demonstrated understanding of FAT / SAT, APQP and PPAP processes and implementation

Additional Qualifications:
Graduate degree preferred
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred

Commodity Knowledge - strong mechanical / process knowledge and skills to work across stamping machining and casting commodities
Communication and Interpersonal - crisp verbal skills for velocity plus effective listening skills; effective facilitation skills; demonstrates high energy and models behaviors to motivate the team

Strategic Thinking - ability to make sound business judgments related to strategic supply philosophies and initiatives
Technical - solid negotiation skills; excellent knowledge of operations management and supply chain processes in a large organization; and knowledge of effective technology driven sourcing processes
