Job description, responsibilities and duties

To be able to design, scope, document, develop, test, deploy and maintain windows 8+ applications deployed on compatible tablet/laptops devices for use remotely. To ensure these applications interact with ASP. Net/SQL web-enabled solutions at expert level as part of an application development group working directly for one of SAI Global’s business units.


Vašou pracovnou náplňou bude/ Job description:
•• Design and plan SQL server and ASP.net based application deployments to exacting standards of look, feel, performance and usability
•• To ensure that the SAIGOL system technical release and development process are followed
•• Provide technical assistance and guidance to the business analysts
•• Administration of a release management process for all development work
•• Technical coordination of 3rd party organisations to ASP.Net and SQL Server
•• Ensure that all requirements for agreed projects are fully documented and where appropriate, project plans are developed and followed
•• Provide the team an importing and exporting capability for handling bulk transactions into and out of the SAIGOL application
•• Provide the capability to SAI for building SAIGOL environments
•• Provide appropriate capacity planning and scaling within defined requirements
•• Ensure the longevity and usability of the tools that we document applications and databases using diagrams and written documents.
•• Manage changes to the applications and databases within an established change management framework.
•• Development of software products through their lifetime including: research of potential solutions, work package identification and priorities, risk management and configuration management.
••Identification of future technologies and software industry trends.
•• Test all aspects of the environment before deployment – manage UAT from a technical perspective
•• Work with other members of the IT&T team to provide functional and technical solutions
•• Use the CRM tool to log all work and to transfer requests and incidents to other team members
•• Engage with the sales team and business analysts during the scope and design phases of any work.
•• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support of the SQL & .net environments in and outside of business hours as appropriate
•• Respond to escalations and automated alerts
•• Adhere to SAI Global’s purpose, vision and values

Personality requirements and skills

•• University
•• At least 5 years demonstrable experience of designing, planning and developing public applications (web facing). Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate a web-based system that they have been a key player in the development of.
•• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in software development in Microsoft technologies including:, Windows 8 Apps, WPF, MVC/MVVM, HTML/HTML5, JavaScript, Jquery, CSS, ASP.NET (expertise on current versions), C#, IIS, Web services, XAML, XML, SQL Servers, T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS
•• Excellent documentation and diagramming skills
•• Experience of delivering centralised applications to geographically and linguistically disparate clients.
•• Experience working to set times, budgets and technical specifications.
•• A proven track record of application development.
•• Proven track record in developing and delivering “customer facing” and scalable web applications.
•• An understanding of redundancy and high availability in infrastructure as required ensuring systems are deployed and available to customers at all times. This may be necessary when designing and augmenting systems to ensure there is sufficient redundancy in place to cope with growth and changes in demand for the applications.
•• Some experience of ERP (finance, billing) integration desirable
•• Exposure to CRM solutions beneficial

•• Able to plan towards SLA’s
•• Highly motivated and confident with the ability to manage software integrations

•• Excellent interpersonal skills (able to provide technical mentoring of other team members)
Other:
•• Will be required to work from other UK (and possibly European) SAI/customer offices with some travel.
•• Exposure to/knowledge of ITIL practices and PRINCE project management beneficial.
•• Keen adherence to application development lifecycle standards (waterfall).
•• Occasionally work outside of normal office hours to support large-scale deployments and changes.
•• A second or third language will be advantageous
