The Hadoop Technical Sales Specialist is a sales engineer responsible for opportunity progression and closing of software sales that solve our customers Big Data and Analytics challenges. IBM's leading products in categories such as data-at-rest (Hadoop/Big Insights), data-in-motion (InfoSphere Streams), and data-in-the-cloud (Cloud Data Services) are the focus areas of this position. This position is for a sales engineer wanting to sell complex offerings in a competitive environment. We are looking for self-reliant, technically superior talent for this special role. The candidate will use their hands-on experience with big data technologies to develop and deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and proofs-of-concept that highlight the business value and technical strength of IBM's Big Data solutions. The candidate will have: Experience using and developing big data solutions on technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Oozie, Ambari, HCatalog, Zookeeper, and Flume. Experience using core enabling technologies such as Unix, Linux, Window operating systems, networking, cluster computing, scripting and java programming, and relational database. Knowledge of streaming data solutions, such as IBM InfoSphere Streams, Apache Storm, Spark streaming, SQLStream, and Data Torrent. Additional desired skills: Experience with enterprise scale distributed NoSQL solutions such as HBase, Cassandra, Riak, MongoDB, and Cloudant. Experience with Enterprise Data Warehouses such as Teradata, Netezza, Exadata, MSSQL(Microsoft SQL), DB2, and GreenPlum. Experience with data integration and governance solutions such as IBM Information Server, Informatica, Oracle, Talend, and Ab Initio. Knowledge of Hadoop marketplace including offerings of IBM, Cloudera, Hortonworks, and MapR. Attributes Ability to convey the value in complex Big Data solutions to a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences. Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and self teach new cutting edge technologies. Demonstrated organizational skills, discipline, with attention to detail and ability to balance multiple tasks. Provide technical consultation and education to the Sales team by keeping them apprised on new product information. Experience using and developing big data solutions on technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Oozie, Ambari, HCatalog, Zookeeper, and Flume. Experience using core enabling technologies such as Unix, Linux, Window operating systems, networking, cluster computing, scripting and java programming, and relational database. Knowledge of streaming data solutions, such as IBM InfoSphere Streams, Apache Storm, Spark streaming, SQLStream, and Data Torrent.
