Job description, responsibilities and duties

ICESERVE24 has a Global Operations and Communications Center (GOCC) based in Liptovsky Mikluas. The GOCC is a 24/7/365 Operations center monitoring and supporting all Al Thuraya internal and client operations world-wide. GOCC operations will be conducted in three (3) shifts of 8-hours each. The Watch Officer (WO) is the shift lead position within the GOCC structure and plans, directs and manages all shift activities and operations. The WO will serve as the focal point for their assigned GOCC shift and will ensure the internal and external clients supported by the GOCC.

The WO will assist in the maintenance of key ICESERVE24 procedures such as Emergency Response, Risk Management responses and Business Continuity Plan (BCP). The WO will serve as the initial incident commander during their assigned shift. They will also help direct and coordinate the specific corporate team responses to a wide variety of incidents, until such time as they are resolved or the management of the situation is handed off to a member of Corporate Management, Program Management and/or Risk Management Team.

This position requires rotating shift work, including nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Extended hours may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manages and coordinates all reporting and document production activities on shift.
• Shift Watch Officer (WO) generating time-sensitive situation reports and alerts, as well as perform quality assurance and editing of intelligence products and provide feedback to other personnel on shift.
• Liaise with senior Al Thuraya staff, other clients in order to respond to inquiries and provide support and guidance as required.
• Monitors and reports on world events for Alerts and general awareness.
• Incident Management as needed; serves as the initial incident commander, and manage spontaneous large and small-scale incidents as they occur.
• Insures that proper notifications are made to headquarter, program, safety, IT/Communications and all other duty personnel as required.
• Assist with the training, guidance of the GOCC operations team, on how to monitor and utilize the different security, fire alarm and communications systems.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Personality requirements and skills

QUALIFICATIONS:
• A bachelor's degree (or equivalents work experience) is required, preferably in security policy studies or international relations.
• Ex-military or Emergency Management experience working in, and/or managing an operations center required.
• Knowledge of business continuity, emergency management, or incident support required.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to clearly speak, read and write the English language is essential.
• Proficiency in a second language (Spanish or Arabic) is desirable.
• Excellent analytical writing skills.
• Ability to analyze business intelligence to determine potential impact to client operations.
• Excellent operational skills to ensure efficient running of GOCC that includes sufficient global and HQ/operational coverage.
• Effective time management skills.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Coordination of prompt, high-quality responses to demands and intel requests, and providing constructive feedback on analysis and writing.
• Self-motivated, highly flexible and possess strong initiative and be willing to undertake shift-duties.
• Superior ability to perform multiple tasks in high intensity situations. Multi-tasking skills with the ability to produce on deadline essential.
• Familiarity with security issues and other operational risk concerns to international organizations.
