Job description, responsibilities and duties
We are looking for an IT Specialist who will be part of the Global GIS team and will deliver the first level support on computer equipment and standard applications to the end users.
Role Responsibilities:
• Provide local IT support and solve HW & SW requests from internal customers;
• Maintain and support the local IT infrastructure: File Servers and Application Servers, Client stations (desktops and laptops) and networks;
• Provide support to users on standard applications: Microsoft Office suite, VPN client software and other GIS standard applications;
• Provide support on LAN and WAN infrastructure;
• Manage and monitor software licenses;
• Follow to company procedures and policies given by the Global GIS team;
• Provide the support to project teams on the roll out of new technologies or upgrades of the existing ones;
• Support other GIS team members if needed; and
• Escalate problems to higher level technical support when necessary.

• University Degree or Technical high school diploma in information technologies;
• Good knowledge and confirmed experience with Microsoft Office (2007 and 2010) applications and Microsoft Operating Systems;
• 2 to 4 years of related experience in supporting users in international environment;
• Previous experience in networking, including the configuration of routers, firewalls and switches;
• Good knowledge and experience with the administration of Windows and Linux servers and basic knowledge of server peripherals (e.g. tape units, disk storage, etc.);
• Knowledge about Dell and HP hardware platforms is an advantage;
• Knowledge of enterprise backup software (e.g. BackupExec) and general knowledge about computer security and Anti-Virus software (preferably McAfee);
• MCP Certification is an advantage;
• Strong communication skills, the ability to prioritize work and to work under the pressure; and
• Fluent English.
