Payroll Manager

SUMMARY

The Payroll Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing for assigned locations/countries within the EMEA region, ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time and in compliance with all applicable laws.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Own the regional payroll process for the assigned countries.
Evaluate and analyze existing payroll policies, procedures and business processes; draft, propose and implement changes and/or quality control measures leading to best practice operations.
Encourage and implement continuous improvement measures within Payroll ensuring appropriate controls that enable efficient payroll processes are in place.
Manage the relationship with local payroll providers in each country to ensure timely and accurate payments, making recommendations where appropriate to improve current processing.
Ensure the accuracy of payroll, including but not limited to: base pay, commissions and bonuses, stock compensation, payroll taxes, pension, medical, garnishments and other deductions.
Reconcile payroll taxes and review all payroll reports for accuracy.
Prepare and calculate special checks routinely and/or on demand, i.e., termination pay, etc.
Timely review and sign off on all required payroll and state tax reconciliations. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory reporting requirements and guidelines; ensures reports are accurate and disbursed in a timely manner.
Interact with external auditors to ensure accurate reporting is completed.
Develop thorough process and compliance manuals for each country to assist with internal compliance and external audit requirements.
Own yearly compliance calendar for all assigned countries, including management of statutory tax deadlines, managing of cash requirements and including matters such as annual PSA requirements in the UK.
Perform a timely and accurate monthly close process for all entities including reconciliations of accounts, review all accruals and ensure that all regular reporting is completed in a timely manner.
Effectively partner with cross functional teams on matters important to the MEC process.
Partnering with the Business, advise on new country payroll implementations, including working with professional advisors and local tax authorities to understand rules around process, tax and compliance.
Remain current on new legislation and regulatory ruling impacting payroll in assigned locations. Enforce adherence to requirements and advise management on required actions.

Expertise in payroll best practices and proven track record of process improvement.
Must be versed with working in a close team environment and providing project management/leadership.
Customer service mentality and approach required.
Solid organization skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve outstanding issues required.
Planning and organization: an ability to plan and manage multiple projects.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Computer proficiency: Word, Excel and Power Point.
May require some international travel (minimal).

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field.
