Migration Lead Consultant


Job description, responsibilities and duties


Responsible for all technical deliverables related to solutioning, planning, and executing a client’s IT migrations from point A to Point B (includes migration across/within datacenters, server states, user bases, operating systems, HW/SW versions, platforms, workplaces, delivery teams, etc.).


  • Provides overall engineering direction and support for migration across all towers to ensure the program meets the contractual obligations and operational standards, as well as the client’s business imperatives
  • Works with the Chief/Lead Engineer to ensure technical integration across all the towers
  • Responsible to ensure migration is delivered on-scope, on-quality, on-time, and on-budget
  • Responsible for the formation and oversight of Migration waves, ensuring that all required tasks are established and completed according to design
  • Responsible to ensure issue escalation is addressed to the proper levels of project leadership and issues are resolved
  • Manages master device list (a.k.a. SSoT – Single Source of Truth)
  • Ensures WaC (Workload & Cloud) Migration best-practices are followed and standard toolsets are leveraged


  • Degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Customer facing experience
  • Able to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to translate customer, business and functional requirements
  • Experience with migration types and tools (P2P,P2V,SameBox/Lift-n-Shift, within datacenter, across datacenter, HW and SW upgrades, etc.)
  • Experience with all prerequisites (FMO build-out, Business outage windows, Upgrades prior to migrations, HW/SW driver loads/updates, etc.)

University education (Bachelor's degree)

computer science, information technology, information systems, electrical engineering or equivalent

Language skills
