Job description, responsibilities and duties
KEY ROLES:
* Provide leadership to the Purchasing team. Purchasing is focussed mainly on raw materials (basic and specialty chemicals), packaging, manufactured products, cleaning equipment and industrial maintenance supplies.
* Manage a high-performing Purchasing team in the Czech Republic. The team will identify new suppliers, obtain samples and bids, review supplier quality control procedures and prepare purchasing contracts. The Manager would take the lead role in supplier negotiations. The team may also place purchase orders, review and report supplier performance and continually qualify new suppliers.
* Quickly develop understanding of current Company's operating practices.
* Work with the management team to develop competitive proposals for potential customers, and provide negotiating support to VP Supply Chain Europe and Procurement Director Europe.

WE REQUEST:
* Ideal candidate would have 5+ years specific experience in roles of increasing responsibility related to Purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
* Fluent Czech and English are required, additional European languages are preferred.
* Experience in purchasing of chemical raw materials or in manufacturing of liquid soaps/detergents, industrial cleaners, and/or water treatment compounds is a plus, but is not required.
* Engineering background is desirable.
* Familiar with modern ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
* Top management presence - comfortable presenting to and negotiating with senior management in English.
* University education preferred.
* The successful candidate will be a team player with a profit-oriented approach comfortable in a high-speed working environment.
* He or she will be highly organized, analytical and detail oriented with strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure to meet or exceed deadlines.
