Quality engineer I

POSTION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Quality Engineer hold the ultimate responsibility for the success of a quality release though multiple phases of delivery. They design, develop, and execute test plans and scripts for all components of a product to ensure the delivery of quality software products that meet customer specifications. Quality Engineer conduct intense field analysis of deployed software performance, ensuring issues are identified and resolved. Key areas of focus include:

• Involvement in multiple phases of software release cycle

• Immediate ownership provided for phases of the software release cycle

• After delivery, allowed tangible, real-time metrics to measure and control success



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Achieves the committed results within the time frame, functionality, performance and quality objectives established for the project.

• Executes the work plan, providing intermediate progress and exception reports to appropriate managers and project leaders.

• Determines the time estimates and work plan necessary to achieve the goals for building, testing and maintaining the product.

• Works to assigned schedules and communicates issues that impede progress early in work cycle.

• Provides input into work plans for assigned projects.

• Presumes that change is constant element of work environment and acts in ways that enable change to occur positively.

• Uses established software engineering concepts, principles and processes to achieve committed results.

• Is an advocate for providing satisfaction to Radiant clients by maintaining a proactive approach with clients.

• Creates installation processes for Radiant products and supporting software.

• Assesses and makes technical recommendations for hardware purchases, including what and how much hardware clients need to run/maintain our solutions.

• Able to viewed internally as a leader and an expert on Radiant products and delivery.

• Responds to client cases and field inquires in a timely and effective manner by answering questions and reproducing both straightforward and complex technical problems.



SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

• Must be able to work on a wide range of problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis of data and/or situations require evaluation of identifiable factors.

• Must be able to work and make recommendations and decisions without appreciable direction on assigned projects/programs. Work is subject to review upon completion to ensure compliance with the objectives and policies.

• Ability to build and maintain client relationships.

• Detail-oriented, ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Good oral and written communication skills. Listening skills very important.

• Proactive, high level of ownership, focused on accomplishing objectives, problem-solving and preserving attitude.

• Possesses the ability to work with a wide variety of people. Team building skills. Experience in conflict negotiation.

• Demonstrated ability to meet short-term deadlines.

• Ability to work as a team member and leader cross-functionally with Product Development, Client Services, Implementation.

• Work outside of standard hours is often expected to meet deadlines and interact with employees and clients in different time zones
