Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for a suitable candidate for a position Database Engineer – Oracle for our client – an international bank.

Job duties:
- Setup of Core Banking test systems (OpenVMS and .NET) and partly development systems
- Parametrization of test systems (system parameters, triggers, table setup, interfaces, etc.)
- Performing health checks in order to able to release the test systems (i.e. System Smoke and Integration Tests)
- Change Management / Implementation (patches, new releases, hot fixes, etc.)
- Running and troubleshooting End-of-Days (EODs) for IBS (OpenVMS) and Phoenix (.NET)
- Opening up systems for the day after EOD has been run
- Data refreshes/backups
- Daily technical support for test and development systems

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

UNIX/Linux - Basic
Oracle Database - Expert
OpenVMS administration - Basic

Personality requirements and skills

Requirements:
- + 3 years Oracle Database administration experience
- Knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, Data Guard/RMAN
- Basic knowledge of UNIX shell
- Fluency in English (knowledge of Czech is not required, German is an advantage)
- Stress resistance, logical and analytical thinking
- Proactive approach and good communication skills, ability to cooperate independently and within a team, open minded
- Service and customer oriented attitude
