For our client, an international company which is a leader in IP networking with a proven expertise in delivering secure, reliable and scalable next-generation infrastructure and subscriber solutions, we are looking for suitable candidates for the position of Tech Support engineer.
Job description:
• Serve as point of contact for Customers, work seamlessly with the Project / Service Manager and account team to achieve given customer goals
• Communicate effectively (both written and verbal) to management / customer(s) in clear concise, honest way relative to all activities, plans, escalations, schedules etc.
• Maintain skills on current and legacy platform and applicable technologies as well as identifying, engaging and training for needs of future platform/releases/applicable technologies.
• Act as expert on assigned customer networks. Will create procedures and activities related to installation, upgrades or patches as needed.
• Develop Test Plans, MOPs, technical alerts and field notices to communicate critical information required to test and support the product
• Develop documentation required to support customer project activities as directed by management.
• Implement and support remotely any activities/tasks related to field activity being performed
• Work/test in lab as needed.
• Develop customer relationships. Participate in customer conference calls. Will require regular interaction with customer personnel to carry out testing activities or facilitate trouble resolution.
• Participate in isolation of faults to hardware/software root cause and engage other engineering resources as needed.
• Report and communicate service activity to the Service Manager and or Team Leader in the appropriate format as directed.
• Direct and assist in escalating vendor field problems.
• Participate in the shift rotation to ensure coverage from 8:00 till 24:00 (CET/CEST)

We require:
• BSEE or Computer Science or Telecom degree or equivalent job experience
• Proven technical skills and experience with telephony solutions
• 2-5 years telecommunications service delivery experience in support or engineering function
• Excellent customer communications skills, strong team building skills and keen team player
• Ability to lead and drive problems to the appropriate timely conclusion in effort to resolve and contain the customer issues, good planning and organization skills, A hunger for developing and maintaining own technical skills and disciplines
• Ability to get along with co-workers and supervisors
• Experience with VoIP signaling and media transmission (SIP)
• Background and experience in legacy telephony and network interface and signaling (SS7, PRI, TCP/IP, etc).
• Working knowledge of UNIX, knowledge of IP networking, basic IP routing, firewalls and security considerations
