For our client, an international company which is a leader in IP networking with proven expertise in delivering secure, reliable and scalable next-generation infrastructure and subscriber solutions, we are looking for suitable candidates for the position of Support Engineer – VOIP
Job description:
• Serve as point of contact for Customers.
• Participate in isolation of faults to hardware/software root cause and engage other engineering resources as needed.
• Work seamlessly with the Project / Service Manager and account team to achieve given customer goals.
• Communicate effectively (both written and verbal) to management / customers.
• Develop customer relationships. Participate in customer conference calls. Will require regular interaction with customer personnel to facilitate trouble resolution.
• Maintain skills on current and legacy telecoms platform and applicable technologies as well as identifying, engaging and training for needs of future platform/releases/applicable technologies.
• Work/test in lab as needed.
• Direct and assist in escalating vendor problems.
• Participate in the shift rotation to ensure coverage from 8:00 till 24:00 (CET/CEST).
• Workplace: Prague 2
We require:
• Experience with VoIP signaling and media transmission such as, SIP, VoLTE, WebRTC, etc.
• Background and experience in legacy telephony and signaling (SS7, PRI, TCP/IP, etc.), an advantage.
• Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX an advantage.
• Knowledge of IP networking, basic IP routing, firewalls and security considerations an advantage.
• Experience with Session Border Controllers an advantage.
• Ability to lead and drive problems to the appropriate timely conclusion in effort to resolve and contain the customer issues.
• Good customer communications skills.
• Strong team building skills and keen team player.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• BSEE or Computer Science or Telecom degree or equivalent job experience.
• A hunger for developing and maintaining own technical skills and disciplines.
