Job description, responsibilities and duties
The “Installed Base Maintenance and Support” (IMS) is a global organization supporting all companies running SAP solutions. We are part of SAP development organization “Application Innovation”. IMS team provides maintenance, development support and continuous improvement for all standard releases in general availability. Our primary objective is to ensure an efficient and performance operation of SAP software. We take full responsibility for the code and we provide solutions to our customer inquiries.
We seek for Developers and are looking for candidates who are committed to deliver support for assigned areas of responsibility. Based on the individual professional background colleagues newly joining our team will get trained based on an individual plan. Such a training plan can consist of class room training and on-the-job activities to build up the needed technical and product expertise quickly. An experienced colleague will also act as your personal mentor.
Key responsibilities:
• Analysis of complex software issues and providing of corrections for them
• Supporting our customers and other SAP teams with deep product expertise
• Availability as central contact person in dedicated areas of expertise for development of new functionality
• You will carry out research and development activities. As output you will deliver and ensure assurance of functional enhancements in existing software solutions
• You contribute to strategic projects like “Suite on HANA” and security initiatives.
• Improvement of software quality through application redesign
• Delivery of customer specific maintenance and upgrade services for customers with special consulting requirements (e.g. in case of modifications)

Information about the selection process
• Experience in software development is useful. Graduates are welcome
• University degree, preferably in an IT or a related discipline (computer science, physics, mathematics, business economics etc.) or another adequate qualification. Graduates are welcome
• Programming skills in at least one common programming language, ABAP experience is advantage
• Language skills: very good working knowledge of English, German is an advantage
• Strong analytic skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to the new situations and tasks
• High customer and service orientation with a strong focus on quality
• Able to identify knowledge gaps and fill them through own initiative
• High customer and service orientation, good communication skills
