Job description, responsibilities and duties
As part of the Technology Core Platform the DS Team for the ABAP Server provides development support, maintenance, and continuous improvement for all parts and releases of the ABAP Platform that are in general availability. Our primary objective is to ensure an efficient and performant operation of the ABAP Platform. We take full responsibility for the code and we provide solutions to our customer’s inquiries.
Important parts of the ABAP Platform are System Monitoring and Application Logging. The team is responsible for a number of tools which are needed by our customers in their daily business in order to keep their systems up and running and to provide relevant information to analyze technical issues.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
You will become member of an international team with experienced and highly motivated colleagues located in Czech Republic and Germany. Your main focus will be handling of customer incidents on the level of development support in the area application logging (BC-SRV-BAL) and system monitoring (BC-CCM-MON). Besides that, you will have a broad range of tasks to apply and strengthen your programming and product skills.
Your tasks will include:
• Analysis of complex software issues (on level of Development Support).
• Creation of ABAP source code corrections
• Improvement of software quality through application redesign.
• Correction of data inconsistencies.
• Delivery and quality assurance of functional enhancements (e.g. customer connection requests, legal changes)
• Organization of handover and integration of new products and features coming from new development projects.
• Contribution to strategic projects and security initiatives.
• Availability as central contact person in dedicated areas of expertise for development of new functionality.
• Planning and execution of know-how transfer to other support levels.
