- orders the manufacturing material on the basis of the processing of orders of the finished products from the customer
- plans the production within the individual manufacturing operations
- plans transport of material to the plant and transport of the finished products to the customer
- responsible for the amount and accuracy of inventories in the plant, responsible for the care and maintenance of the master data
