Head of Quality Assurance (m/f)

Our client is a group founded in 1950, now with some 800 employees and revenues of approx. € 160 million. Within the group there are two independent divisions. One area develops and manufactures foil and containers made from a variety of plastics for the food and pharmaceuticals industries, as well as foil for technical applications. The second division supplies customer-specific blown and injection moulded parts, as well as components for the automotive and household appliance sectors. The company operates in Germany, the Czech Republic and the US. The Czech site, with some 140 employees, is to be expanded and we are now looking for a Head of Quality Assurance.

Main responsibilities include:

• Maintenance and further development of the Quality Assurance and Environmental Management System, including system documentation (representative of top management), and work safety
• Assurance of quality and environmental consciousness throughout the organisation
• Management of QA in the areas: inspection planning, measurement technology and material testing, test equipment management, incoming goods inspection and complaint management
• Planning and execution of audits to verify QA and EMS effectiveness
• Information to senior management and team leaders regarding matters relevant to quality and the environment
• Presentation of improvement potential using data analysis and audit results
• Coordination and monitoring of processes for allocated areas of process responsibility
• Coordination of QA training in conjunction with HR
• Close coordination with the HSE team leader in relation to the environment and work safety – especially regarding appropriate system documentation
• Trustworthy cooperation with managers and other organisational areas
• Compliance with legal and internal directives
• Cost control in the assigned area
• Management of assigned employees, encompassing all relevant tasks and responsibilities
• Preparation of an annual training plan

In order to successfully master these challenges, candidates will require:

• Technical qualifications
• Additional certification in quality assurance and ideally environmental management (management systems)
• Several years of professional experience in quality, process and environmental management
• Familiarity with quality methods and techniques (especially ISO TS 16949, ISO 18001 and ISO 14001)
• Leadership experience
• Entrepreneurial approach and methods
• Initiative, assertive skills, solution-driven approach, hands-on mentality and team spirit
• Excellent Czech and English absolutely essential, German would be advantageous
