Technical Support Engineer (m/w) - Düsseldorf

The Technical Support Engineer will work alongside our current technical team, supporting them by answering the helpdesk phone and email queries that come through daily. Working to an ideal response time of no more than 24 hours, you will be responsible for investigating end user issues and resolving them as quickly as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To answer the technical support phone line
  • Send and receive technical support emails
  • Testing of storage, networking, mobile and multimedia technology products
  • To always liaise with customers in a professional, patient and courteous manner wether this be face-to-face, via email or phone
  • To set up equipment at launch events and exhibitions
  • To work on launch event and exhibition demo booths – liaising face to face with channel partners and end users
  • Test faulty units remotely and in the office
  • Predominantly work on 1st and 2nd line support
  • Support the marketing team by dealing with technical queries from the media, testing sample units and arranging equipment for events

Essential skills and experience:

  • A keen interest in IT
  • Strong communication skills in English and Czech, German would be a plus
  • A relevant IT qualification or comparable working experience
  • Good, clear and confident telephone manner
  • Customer service experience
  • Knowledge in Networking, Storage, NAS and Virtualization
  • Knowledge of Linux command line usage (bash, sh, ash or similar)

Personal Requirements:

  • Willing to relocate to Germany in order to work in Synology Dusseldorf office
  • Team player
  • Communicative and good interpersonal skills
  • Creative, innovative, flexible and friendly
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Willingness to travel
