Our client is the world’s largest producer of binder, adhesive, coating and ink resins for industrial applications. Due to their continuous success and expansion, we are currently looking for their production plant in west Bohemia for the following candidate:

LEAN SIX SIGMA BLACK BELT

Job Objective:
The Lean Six Sigma initiative is a cornerstone of business strategy. Becoming a Black Belt represents a challenging career enhancing opportunity for successful Black Belt candidates. The training extends the existing knowledge base of (preferably) Chemical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and similar backgrounds with a very big amount of Problem Solving Tools and Techniques, Team Leadership Skills to become future Managers. The Training includes all Lean Tools and their application as well as the full range of Quality and Statistical Tools including Regression Analysis, Hypothesis Testing, Design of Experiments etc. Black Belt candidates have training and certification programs custom designed to develop the skills, knowledge, experience, and expertise to achieve breakthrough level improvement projects. During the training, certification and participation period, all Black Belt candidates will be required to devote full-time (100%) to their Black Belt role. They will be under the direction of a Six Sigma MBB. Black Belts will provide technical leadership, project support and mentoring as required. Black Belt candidates may be required to train Green Belts and Team Members in the Six Sigma philosophy and methodologies. They will work with local and business unit leadership in the development and execution of Six Sigma projects to support and drive the long term strategy.

• This position has a key and strategic operating role to the local business unit leadership, and plays an important role in the achievement of the overall success of these business units.
• The scope of the work will include working with multi-functional teams and local leadership to develop, execute and complete selected improvement projects.
• Work with people at all levels in the organization from senior business unit leaders and corporate management through shop floor levels.
• Expectations include a hands-on teamwork approach to problems, planning, and people associated with all aspects of the Lean Six Sigma initiative.

Job responsibilities:
• Attend (100%) Black Belt training classes graduate and achieve a high degree of knowledge and capability in the breakthrough process and the Six Sigma methodologies.
• Target an annual completion of four to six projects per year, which target a baseline improvement of 70% and generate $250,000 per project.
• Provide assistance and be a resource to functional departments and business units in identifying, planning and implementing Six Sigma projects.
• Work with Finance and other members of the organization in assessing, tracking and reporting the financial benefit of a Six Sigma project.
• Actively lead teams and provide individual contribution in problem solving efforts on selected projects to reduce defects, improve customer satisfaction, reduce cost and improve cycle time, scrap, rework, etc.
• Provide management with project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on selected projects through the project tracking system and management/project reviews.
• Prepare and write a final report on each project per the Final Project Report format.
• Work with other Black Belts to maximize understanding and improvement efforts of Six Sigma.
• Achieve certification as a Black Belt by successfully completing two projects using the DMAIC process and by demonstrating technical proficiency in the Six Sigma Methodology.
• Identify and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful attainment of process/productivity improvement and administrative efficiency that will lead to cost reduction and competitive advantage.
• Provide expert guidance to multiple Six Sigma project teams/Green Belts
• Provide Six Sigma Black Belt expertise in company-wide Six Sigma deployment
• Develop and deliver internal training programs.
• Lead and execute Six Sigma and Lean projects as assigned and/or identified
• Manage project development and selection, development of project plans and metrics identification; follow toll gate review

Main requirements:
• Comfortable and proficient with algebra-level mathematics.
• Understanding of basic probability and statistics is preferred.
• 4-year degree required in business, or technical discipline (ideally chemical degree). Graduate degree a plus.
• Five years or more work experience (ideally chemical / pharma or manufacturing segment) - at least one year at this company.
• Proven record of performance and trusted professional credibility.
• Experienced team leader with proven problem solving experience and process focus.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity
