Job description, responsibilities and duties

Our client is one of the leading suppliers in Tip Dressers, Cap Changers and Electrode Management for resistance welding. With its Headquarter in Bratislava / Slovakia and subsidiaries in Germany, Spain, USA, Brazil, Mexico and China the company is operatively supporting its mainly automotive customers globally. The owners of the group decided to strengthen its internal team and hire a senior colleague who will lead the group finance and IT from the Bratislava site.

This position is fitting for a senior finance professional, having 10 -15 years of previous finance / controlling experience out of that majority in the manufacturing, preferably automotive sector. The candidate should have solid finance consolidation skills. Experience in SAP and possibly SAP implementation is of advantage. We are looking for a “partner” like personality with strategic approach, still hands-on, able to set the priorities and identify bottle necks when it comes to the existing finance related processes. Business mind, helicopter view are further important characteristics. This is not a “suit and tie” position since the owners and the whole group operates in a very lean, flexible structure, using synergies and profiting from it. We therefore seek somebody who will fit well this kind of company set up. Very good people skills is key, taking into account the company owners are foreigners and several finance responsible colleagues sit at remote locations. The sought manager should be analytical and detailed when it comes to the specific finance related work, decisive and organized when it comes to setting up priorities / implementing common systems and mature enough when it comes to leading and developing people. Due to the role seniority it is also important he/she is able to help building cooperative and appreciating company culture and bridge between the owners and the Slovak onsite team but also teams abroad.

Detailed description:

• Assure the multi sites accounting is performed in line with all local accounting and statutory requirements plus in accordance with international finance standards;
• To lead and manage the areas of accounting, controlling and reporting with the aim to contribute to company results by supporting the management with reliable, relevant and up to date information for decision making;
• Performing operational and strategic business analysis in order to identify business risks and to support management to continuous increase business performance;
• Leading and supervising local Finance staff and to co-ordinate the finance staff in other locations;
• Leading the SAP implementation project;
• Managing the group consolidation, including regular and ad hoc business analysis
• Managing all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting activities;
• Over-seeing VAT and duty;
• Co-ordinate and manage insurance and treasury activities for the site; be in active touch with banks when necessary;
• Identify any statutory violations or issues relating to accounting, tax, customs, for which Finance will provide organisational solutions;
• Co-ordination with local auditors and external fiscal authorities;
