Senior Architect, SAP Project Operations Systems

The primary responsibility of the SAP Project Operations Systems Architect is to be the point of ERP expertise for customer projects execution using SAP and complementary systems. The SAP Project Operations Systems Architect will be the principal designer of project delivery solutions and will act as team leader for the on-shore and off-shore Project Operations ERP support team.


List of key responsibilities:

• “Ownership” of and support for SAP Project Systems module across SPX Flow
 Organise and lead module development workshops
 Member of SPX Flow SAP Change Approval Board, validation of system change orders, elaborating the effect of proposed change requests on SPX Flow processes
 Continuous improvement of SPX Flow Project Operations ERP systems using SAP PS, MM, SD and FICO modules

• Development Lead For Business Solutions
 Develop processes and application solutions to support multi-national integrated Project Operations business scenarios:
 Project work breakdown structure
 Project cost planning and forecasting
 Project Materials Planning & Scheduling
 Project time registration and control
 Project performance reporting
 Project results analysis and cost settlement
 Project billing

• Resource and lead internal and external SAP Projects specialist teams
 Ensure internal and external team resource pool reflects current and anticipated workload
 Maintain projects resources plan, mapping business requirements to SAP Team resource assignments
 Recruitment for new and replacement SAP PS support positions
 Ensure that team members are working in accordance with plan
 Regular review of team activities, taking corrective action where required
 Period performance review of internal team members in line with SPX Flow HR policies

• Provide business systems expertise to senior management
 Interface with SPX Flow End Market Sector leadership teams, business unit management and system users to identify opportunities for business improvement
 Determination of SAP best practice processes for projects operations and control
 Organise, participate in and facilitate business process re-engineering workshops
 Implementation of new processes and education of staff
 Support executive decision making process by providing SAP Project Systems expertise.

• Business Systems project management where required
 Assist IT Leaders and Program Managers with compilation and maintenance of project plans
 Project Management responsibility for systems projects as assigned

• Lead business process and business systems integration projects for Projects process areas
 Produce functional and technical specifications to support development of interfaces and integration of SAP and other SPX Flow business systems
 Provide SAP expertise to Program and Project Management
 Assign and manage SAP resources assigned to integration projects

Required Education / Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT, Engineering or related field
• 5+ years specifying, configuring, deploying and supporting SAP Project Systems and integrated functionality from other SAP modules, preferably with experience in a global environment
• 3+ years in IT/ERP management or team leader role
• SAP Project Systems consultant certification and/or certification in other mainstream SAP ERP modules
• Proficient in MS Office (particularly MS Excel) and MS SharePoint


Preferred Education / Experience:

• Experienced configurator for SAP CO, MM or SD modules
• ITIL or COBIT training and/or certification
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project On-line
• Manufacturing industry experience
