Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
- Market development, origination and structuring of PPAs for a mainly European/Americas based
portfolio of developed and acquired Wind and Solar projects.
- Research into changing characteristics of the energy markets and the impact on retail electricity pricing for industrial customers to provide insights to how their energy costs may change
- Development, negotiation and closing of PPAs with Corporate, Utilities, Traders, Communities, Commercial and Industrial customers, etc.. All of this with particular emphasis on commercial aspects and on the bankability of the PPA and of the off taker
- Ensure that the PPAs have been assessed across multiple disciplines and that material risks are clearly communicated.
- Collaborating with the legal team and project finance teams, and sharing with the team common/market contractual positions and compromises
- Deliver on target volume, revenue, and margin goals for off-take agreements from PV solar projects
- Negotiate power contracts with counterparties in collaboration with company stakeholders.
- Establish relationships with procurement, trading, and origination desks at utilities, municipalities, coops, C&I off-takers, investment banks and power marketers
- Drive power marketing “ideas” to definitive deliverables (financial models, term sheets, contracts) and timetables for execution
- Provide deal structure recommendations to minimize collateral requirements and support negotiation of financing arrangements
- RFP & Proposal Development - identify RFP opportunities and originate bilateral PPA targets outside formal RFP processes

Requirements for the employee
Candidates with education suit the position
University education (Bachelor's degree)

Personality requirements and skills
- Proven track record in the valuation, structuring, negotiation and execution of either asset-backed transactions or structured commodity / cross commodity transactions
- Experience and familiarity with non-standard power contract terms, ideally with long-term renewable off take agreements / PPAs and master trade agreements, such as EFET, ISDA
- Outgoing, sales-oriented mentality with excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Previous experience with electricity/commodity trading
- Experience and good knowledge of PPA contracts
- Understanding of the Power markets, and the interplay between grid interconnection, land acquisition and permitting
- Strong project management, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team and take the initiative to follow up as needed
- Experience in solar industry a plus, but not required
