JOB DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst – US Outbound/International candidate to join the Tax Team in Bratislava, Slovakia. The candidate will focus on US international income tax reporting and compliance (including compliance with foreign currency rules, tax return preparation including forms 5471s/8858s, etc.), the international aspects of the US GAAP worldwide income tax provision. Additionally, this position will be responsible for researching and modeling tax reform implications, etc. This position will also be responsible for supporting the US and international tax controversy teams on audits and the international tax team on the compliance and reporting aspects of projects.

Primary job duties include:
· Primarily responsible for compliance with various foreign currency rules under sections 987, 988, 986, etc.
· US International reporting and compliance obligations (Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, Form 1120F etc.)
· Review Subpart F, E&P, tax pools and foreign tax credits calculations
· Create and develop complex excel spreadsheet models
· Research and understand potential tax legislation and participate in modeling different scenarios
· Review tax planning ideas to determine impacts to the worldwide tax provision
· Prepare or review international aspects of Amazon’s worldwide provision
· Research effects of various international transactions and determine the US tax disclosure reporting
· Support US and international tax controversy teams on tax audits
· Drive process improvements and coordinate with Tax Technology Team to facilitate streamlining and automation of recurring calculations
· Management of junior tax professionals and outside service providers

Requirements for the employee

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years of direct tax experience including relevant experience with international income tax compliance/reporting
· BA/BS in Accounting or equivalent
· Knowledge of federal income taxation of international transactions
· ASC 740 accounting for income taxes knowledge and experience required


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· CPA preferred
· JD, MST, LLM desirable
· Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
· Strong project management skills
· Strong tax operational background and ability to drive process improvements
· Hard working, quick learner with a positive ''can do'' attitude and solid professionalism
· Excellent knowledge of federal income taxation of international transactions
· Tax preparation software experience helpful to aid in review (Corptax international tax compliance software)
· Experience with Essbase and Oracle Financial Applications helpful
