Amazon Finance Operations is looking for an experienced Accounts Receivables Manager to support our continued EU expansion.

The successful candidate will have a strong desire in innovating processes and exceed expectations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, primarily driving innovation on behalf of customers / vendors. The biggest focus area is Accounts Receivables within our customer relationships with emphasis on financial transactions, such as invoices, credits, debit-notes and cash application.
The successful candidate would manage our operations across EU (DE, FR, IT, ES) reporting to local Senior AR manager but cooperating with a broad management team across the globe.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Debit Balance collection analysts. As part of our commitment to your development, you will also gain exposure in cross- functional and process improvement projects, however you can expect your responsibilities to include:
- Responsibility for AP Debit balance on country level, analysis of root cause, reporting to senior leadership, with focus on meeting collection targets
- Work with global Debit balance teams on standardizing processes across globe wherever applicable to ensure capacity for our significant growth
- Diagnose, improve and fix issues in current collections processes
- Close cooperation with Accounting team to explain booking entries on Debit balance account, including bad debt calculation
- Ensure team is following global / local policies, SOPs to ensure compliance in processes
- Work with Amazon vendors to drive process improvements and resolve escalations and discrepancies.
- Continually look at ways to improve the customer experience
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure timely collections and a high degree of accuracy
- Earn the trust of your external and internal customers/Vendors thereby building long-lasting relationships to reinforce Amazon’s customer centricity
- Acting as a communication liaison between our customers, non-retail finance, and Sales department and accounts receivables

Main business areas:
- Accounts Receivables with focus on AP Debit balance
- Creation and management of our KPI’s on team and analyst level
- Executive metrics reporting
- Contact management (managing customer questions and complaints through our online tools)
People Management:
- Leading and developing a team of financial analysts and team leaders, including hiring, performance reviews and employee development
- Managing group workload and establishing priorities
- Managing monthly / annual performance targets and evaluate performance against targets
- This position will also act as an escalation point in resolving complex outstanding issues with internal and external business partners.


Project Management:
- Solving complex customer/vendor issues and proactively heading off negative service trends
- Understanding and appropriate utilizing of resources provided by internal systems, departments, policies, and procedures.
- Development, analysis and improvement of new strategies and procedures.
- The successful candidate will have the ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals.

University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2) or German - Upper intermediate (B2) or French - Upper intermediate (B2) or Spanish - Upper intermediate (B2) or Italian - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

· 6+ years of experience in managing an Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable/Accounting department, in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment
· Fluent in English is required
· Fluent in one of the following languages is required: German, French, Spanish or Italian
· Proven track record of managing people (10+)
· Sound knowledge of accounts receivables regulations and procedures
· A strong passion for hiring and developing people
· Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
· Experience with dealing in international markets
· Proficiency using Excel
· Ability to handle multiple tasks, and to work independently in an organized manner with strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and concisely and present numerical data effectively
· A curiosity on how the various teams work together
· Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
· Ability to communicate with Senior Management regarding all aspects of assigned projects; identify and report operational issues
· A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations

Preferred qualifications
· Advanced MS Office, especially MS Excel knowledge
· SQL knowledge is of advantage
· Proven track record from operations, financial background
· Excellent interpersonal and executive presence skills, including a proven ability to develop and maintain relationships both inside and outside the organization
· Self-organized and motivated team player with a demonstrated ability to achieve objectives
