Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
The Senior Boiler Engineer is expected to fulfill several important responsibilities, under direct management of Engineering Department Head and one of global engineering resources pool. He/ She will primarily undertake boiler engineering work for specific contracts, sales projects or R&D projects - this will therefore also include technical support of sales teams as well as execution of contracted projects. Additionally, the sharing and development of a common knowledge and experience platform is a responsibility for all engineers and DP employees.
2) Main responsibilities and tasks
Project Engineering
• Undertake strength calculation of boiler pressure parts according to ASME and EN 12952;
• Undertake general strength calculation of overall boiler structure (incl. buckstay, hoppers, loads etc.) for typical and new prototype boiler;
• Undertake weight and load calculation of overall boiler, both typical and new prototype structured;
• Oversee and guide production of detailed boiler drawings (incl. compensators interface between boiler/grate, support etc.) produced from team of designers;
• Oversee and guide 3D modeling of boiler assuring appropriate details embedded for effective 2D drawings generation point of view.
Sales Support
• Contribute technical expertise to DPCT sales efforts, under the leadership of the Sales Manager;
• Participate in sales activities and relevant meetings; providing technical advice and support to the client and sales team;
• Perform any boiler design and engineering works required for bid situation or technical agreement review.
Product and Design Development
• Develop solutions for special client demands and project demands, mainly within the boiler;
• Participate in gathering of experience and knowhow from own projects, and distribute them globally to GES engineers for continuous product improvement/upgrading;
• Participate in standardization of working methods.
The role will require working based in Katowice Poland where we have multinational staff, and travel to other offices of DP Group in Europe/ Asia with different working cultures, but all staff will be based on international and professional standards of corporate systems and behavior.
