Our client is a D2C e-commerce company. The company revolutionizes the way 160 million inhabitants of the region purchase products by empowering shoppers through state- of - the art technologies and providing radical transparency since the first click.
Join our unique and help us win the transition from the offline world towards online. This is only possible through a comprehensive and technological advanced platform.
The platform is running a desktop- first website in a mobile- first world, being dragged down by up to 5 years old legacy code. We are in the process of rewritting our front-end into React to stay on the top of the tech curve. Next, we will stand in front of the gargantuan task of replacing our back-end platform, preferably moving away from Magento1.
We aim to transform ourselves from a plain-vanilla fashion eshop into a trustworthy sophisticated online optician through implementing the latest technology (true sizing,
3D modelling, facial recognition,...)
The biggest barrier to our growth is not being a tech-driven company. IT needs to become the centerpiece of our core in
order to become agile and efficient.
We are looking for a rock-star senior who will apply his previous experience and with confidence help us with:
● Building and managing a highly efficient internal IT team (including hiring)
● Help us decide on the next platform to replace Magento 1
● Understand our business processes and build IT tools supporting them through automation
● You can utilize your network for advice, co-operations or possible synergies
● You are ready to work in a extremely fast-paced challenging environment and get your hands dirty whenever needed
● You are excited to be part of a meaningful project solving a valuable problem, influencing the lives of millions

Tech skills:
* They should perfectly know how to build web applications and how they work with REST API and web services in general.
* Be fluent in more than one modern programming language - PHP is the first choice, but maybe one more modern language that allows programming for web as well (Python, Go or C#).
* Be familiar with scalability and dealing with high traffic.
* Understand software architectural issues and design patterns.
* Be fluent in data handling related topics, RDBMS like MySQL along with things like ElasticSearch or Redis or NoSQL solutions.
* Knowledge about front-end on a broad scale and familiarity with general ideas and modern approaches on how to build fronts in modern web apps is nice to have (in most cases there's a lot of JS in use today and the React lib is one of the most used along with Vue maybe).
* Knowledge of M1, PHP and Symfony framework along with JavaScript is needed.
