Basic Information
Would you like to build a world class Data Platform for one of the world’s largest building materials company? You will be involved in bringing our ERP and IoT data into the cloud and delivering it to our global products, to contribute to our digital transformation of Heidelbergcement Group. You will be working hand-in-hand in the cross-functional product teams in order to build software for our end customers or for our cement plant operators. Team is based mainly in Heidelberg, Germany but has cooperating engineers also in UK and Berlin, there is an aim to build another center in Brno, Czech Republic you would join. Everything you will be doing is tightly linked to one of our core strategic digital projects: HConnect or HProduce. You have an opportunity to provide valuable input as we shape and improve our core digital customer offerings over the coming years.

During Covid-19 the team operates in a “remote as the default” setup. After that, we will offer a hybrid working model that blends office and remote work all together.

Responsibilities
• Contribute to the architecture of HeidelbergCement’s Data Platform
• Implement data flows from ERPs and IoT to a data mart
• Implement data transformations
• Contribute to your cross-functional product team
• Define and implement the way we handle testing and advocate for best practices such as CI/CD and test automation
• Stay up-to-date with the newest technologies
• Share our data engineering practices within all HeidelbergCement and conferences
Requirements:
• University degree in computer science, business informatics or a related field
o Ideally some years of experience in the field, but we also consider starters for this role
• Experience in a large global organization is a strong plus
• Experience with .NET Core (preferred) or Python, Databases (SQL, DB and query optimisation) or Azure Cloud platform
• Experience with Kubernetes or OKD would be beneficial
• Ability to automate test cases by either scripting or coding
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Very good English language skills. German language skills would be beneficial
• Ability to work in an international team
• Willingness to travel if required
• Joy in tackling a steep learning-curve personally and professionally
