• Collaborate with software developers to create and execute test cases (both automated and manual testing) for selected features to find defects as early as possible in the software development process.
• Analyze code and identify areas where defects may be occurring.
• Collaborate with assigned team members (product owner, developer and QE test) to ensure common understanding of acceptance criteria for a given feature.
• Support developer(s) on unit testing/ integration testing as needed.
• Write unit tests for legacy code as cycles allow.
• Participate in code reviews, as possible, to provide timely feedback to developers’ pull requests.

A software developer with a passion for test, and a desire to work collaboratively with developers to ensure software defects are found as early as possible during the development process, prior to handoff to the SafePath Quality Assurance team for formal QA testing. This position will reside within the product development team and will support all developers within a feature team or across multiple feature teams working on SafePath product delivery. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that is motivated to support the development team(s) in finding and fixing defects as early as possible to support the teams in meeting their sprint objectives with high quality while achieving high velocity.

• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with a wide range of platforms including Linux Server, SQL databases, Android, iOS and web services.
• Experience with Test Driven Development is a plus.
• Working knowledge of programming languages including Java, Python, Bash, and/or Perl.
• Mobile development experience (e.g., develop / debug Kotlin and/or Swift) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Android and iOS debugging and automation tools like Android Studio, XCode, Appium, etc. is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Linux platform and CLI interfaces.
• Experience with continuous integration and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with defect management systems such as JIRA or BugZilla, etc.
• Proficient in English (written and verbal).
