Job Description
Mentors and directs the project accounting team and order intake team.
Review the PSRs (Project Status Reports) for EMEA and ensure they reflect accurately the projects financial performance on a monthly, YTD and Life to date basis.
Oversee project accounting month end processes completed by the team to ensure that they are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Own the project ledger reconciliation to the General Ledger. Ensure that revenue and cost of sales and related balance sheet accounts (AROC/ POA) reconcile to the general ledger.
Liaise with the Project Management team in terms of understanding the performance of the project portfolio.
Manage process for any financial adjustments to project costs (i.e. changes due to accounting adjustments, rates changes), ensuring project forecast are adjusted correctly.
Review the process of order receipt to it being booked into SAP. Ensure it is as efficient as effective as possible.
Own the order book reconciliation and order intake reporting.
Ensure the business software (SAP) is used efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice, especially with regard to reporting.
Act as the main point of contact to internal and external auditors on project accounting matters and provide all required information.
Advise EMEA FD on complex project accounting scenarios
The Successful Applicant
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or local equivalent)
Proven project accounting knowledge (long term contract on a percentage to complete methodology) or desire to learn.
Technically strong with knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Proficiency with integrated business software (ERP) preferably experience with project accounting in SAP.
Experience in team leadership.
Self-motivated with good organisational skills.
Works well under pressure with the ability to deliver on time.
Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
Strong analytical skills including excellent Excel modeling skills.
Effective communicator, both orally and in writing.
