About the Position

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, the world’s leader in the offshore wind industry, is looking to employ a Commodity Manager in the procurement department. The incumbent will collaborate closely together with our Blade Engineering teams and Corporate Procurement having the overall responsibility for our Blades and CAPEX in offshore.
As a Commodity Manager you'll be responsible for all aspects of supplier development and ongoing performance management meeting our technology and business needs incl. for the blades for our new wind turbine SG 10.0-193 DD



What are my responsibilities?

Close collaboration with our Blade Engineering teams and our Corporate Procurement department ensuring that we reach the overall targets for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy
Preparing, conducting and leading negotiations, in cooperation with Corporate Procurement for your commodity with the main aim of obtaining the highest feasible savings and ensuring on time supply of materials which fulfils our internal quality requirements
Management and development of 2 senior buyers
Establishing cost control and cost transparency in the defined area of responsibility
Producing price forecasts and internal figures to supply budget data for corporate planning and reporting
Driving achievement of improvements (cost, quality, on-time supply, product performance) through cross-functional alignment with internal stakeholders and suppliers
Take ownership of the commodity ensuring KPIs are on track, parts are maintained in system and be an active participant in commodity team meetings



What do I need to qualify for this job?

You have a proven track record within commodity management in a large matrix organization with many internal and external stakeholders
You hold a relevant Master’s degree combined with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience within the areas of composites, strategic procurement, procurement management or supply chain management, preferably from an international company
You have strong analytical and outstanding communication skills
You are independent, open minded, proactive and systematic
You are a dedicated team player with leadership skills and you thrive in a dynamic environment with many cross-cultural interfaces
Additionally, you have excellent English skills, both orally and in writing and you are an advanced user of Microsoft Excel
