Job description, responsibilities and duties

On behalf of our client we are looking for a candidate for position Quantitative analyst with a place of work in Prague.

Our client is one of the largest energy production companies in the Europe. Our client mainly focuses on production, distribution and trade of electricity and heat. Company has its own trading department focused on trading electricity and other energy commodities (crude oil, natural gas, …) at the commodity exchanges.

Quantitative analyst is part of analytical team, which works closely with trading team and supports traders and trading itself. Main task of quantitative analyst is to develop and implement analytical methodologies / models / tools mainly for optimization, forecasting, valuations and risk assessment (forward curves, price optimization, usability of prices, …).

Analyst receives the task (project) from supervisor and then processes it and develops and creates system / model / tool (from input of data and algorithm, to programming and testing). Tested system is passed on traders, but analyst watches its development during the use and suggests possible improvements.

Key activities on this position are:
- Development and implementation of analytical and optimization methodologies / models / tools,
- cooperation with traders on the identification of trading opportunities / testing the ideas.

We are looking for quantitative analyst, from any EU country, who are willing to relocate and work in Prague. Internal communication language is English.

Our client will provide all necessary support and assistance to the successful candidate by more experienced colleagues from analytical and trading team.
